LIPID-COMPOSITE PARTICLES BY LIQUID-CO2 CRYOSPRAYING TECHNOLOGY: ADVANTAGES, CHALLENGES AND PHARMACEUTICAL APPLICATIONS
Lipid-based formulations (LBF) offer a wide range of possibilities in pharmaceutical formulation development. However, most LBF are liquid or semisolid at room temperature, which may present certain disadvantages.
The presentation explains how Variosol® Cryospraying technology is applied to process composites, containing excipients or active molecules in the liquid form, to obtain LBF as fine, solid microparticles which can be further developed into final pharmaceutical dosage forms.
