NUTRACO2S project: Recycled raw materials for innovative food supplements, cosmetics or medical devices

NutraCO2S was carried out with European partners, focusing on the use of CO2-based technologies for the recovery, processing and valorization of agro-industrial waste. For its role in the project, SITEC pharmabio received a grant fund in the frame of ManuNet-ERAnet action.

In this project, we designed and introduced innovative features into our cryospraying technology, creating the opportunity to generate new intellectual property. We also developed prototype, semi-finished microspheres formulations containing high-value biomolecules such as lycopene, gamma-oryzanol, resveratrol, polyphenols, and natural polysaccharidic fibers. The microspheres formulations were designed for use in food supplements or as new nutraceuticals products.
